The international contest “May the sun of this land scatter all the gloom and dark…“ has united together the children of Lithuania and foreign countries, their parents and teachers. By posting regulations of the competition and proposing different options on how to make the sun, we did not expect that participants will be so enthusiastic in the agreement with our recommendations.
Following the receipt and acceptance of the invitations to participate in Lithuania’s birthday party, the guests made a total of 44 different suns. The said suns not only brightened up the lobby of the Klaipeda Litorina School, but the faces of its community as well. During the month of January, the suns arrived from various Klaipeda, Jurbarkas and Smalininkai educational institutions. Three schools from Ukraine, one school from Ireland and one from Romania have also responded to the birthday invitations. Therefore we had been sent presents from abroad that took a little longer to arrive.
We believe that the sun production process has infected their authors, because most of the participants presented not one, not two but even more exhibits! The most encouraging news, in particular, is the fact that many of the exhibits were created at home with the help of mothers and fathers. Constantly hearing that the digital generation is only interested in smart technologies, we have also with ovations accepted the works of older students, which fascinated us by the performing techniques, maturity and love to our country. The commission of professionals will have to select eleven works which will continue to the final phase of the eTwinning project “May the sun of this land scatter all the gloom and dark…“: publishing of the calendar for the year 2019. Meanwhile, the twelfth and final work will be selected by the project partners and friends on the social network Facebook.
After our guest from abroad catch their breath after the intense creative process, they will be invited to sing the National anthem. Two versions of the anthem were sent to them – one in Lithuanian and one in English language. We are eager to find out which language the children from Ukraine, Ireland and Romania will choose to sing the National anthem in and honor our country. According to the project regulations, they will have to share the moments of the singing process with the friends who impatiently await for the birthday of their country.

Tarptautinis konkursas „Tegul saulė Lietuvoj tamsumas prašalina…“ suvienijo Lietuvos ir užsienio vaikus, jų tėvelius ir pedagogus. Skelbdami konkurso nuostatus ir siūlydami saulės gaminimo variantus, nesitikėjome, kad jo dalyviai taip entuziastingai sutiks su mūsų rekomendacijomis.
Priėmę konkurso organizatorių kvietimą dalyvauti Lietuvos nepriklausomybės jubiliejuje, svečiai jubiliatei pagamino 44 dideles ir mažas saules, nušvietusias ne tik Klaipėdos Litorinos mokyklos fojė, bet ir jos bendruomenės veidus. Saulytės visą sausio mėnesį keliavo iš įvairių Klaipėdos, Smalininkų ir Jurbarko ugdymo įstaigų. Šiek tiek ilgiau užtruko dovanos iš užsienio, mat į gimtadienio kvietimą atsiliepė trys mokyklos iš Ukrainos, po vieną iš Airijos ir Rumunijos.
Manome, kad saulučių gaminimas užkrėtė jų autorius, nes dauguma konkurso dalyvių pristatė ne po vieną ir net ne po du eksponatus! Ypač džiugina žinia, kad daugelis eksponatų buvo kuriami namuose kartu su mamomis ir tėčiais. Nuolat girdėdami, kad skaitmeninė karta domisi tik išmaniosiomis technologijomis, ovacijomis sutikome ir vyresniųjų klasių mokinių darbus, sužavėjusius atlikimo technikomis, brandumu ir atvira meile savo šaliai. Užjaučiame vertinimo komisiją, kuriai iš visų darbų reikės išrinkti 11 geriausių, pateksiančių į eTwinning projekto „Tegul saulė Lietuvoj tamsumas prašalina…“ galutinį rezultatą – 2019 metų kalendorių. Dvyliktąjį darbą išrinks projekto partneriai ir draugai socialiniame tinkle Facebook.
Atsikvėpę po kūrybinių darbų, Lietuvos gimtadienio svečiai iš užsienio bus pakviesti sugiedoti Tautiškos giesmės. Jiems yra išsiųsti du giesmės teksto variantai – lietuviškas ir angliškas. Nekantraujame sužinoti, kokia kalba pagerbs mūsų šalį Airijos, Rumunijos ir Ukrainos vaikai, pagal projekto nuostatus turėsiantys filmuotomis himno giedojimo akimirkomis pasidalinti su nekantriai savo šalies šventės laukiančiais draugais.
